A few weeks ago I wrote about my obsession with the Wally Pocket, a wall-mounting garden system, which brings a collection of greenery to any room. I finally revived the Pocket which I ordered from Uncommongoods and it’ already up on my wall full of plants. I love it! It was easy to hang and easy to plant in. The soft garden container is a simple pocket with breathable sides that allow your plants to release excess moisture and aerate the soil. The waterproof lining truly keeps your walls and floors dry.

My Wally Pocket
The breathable material is handmade in the U.S. of 90% recycled plastic bottles, which allow soil to aerate naturally, and reduces the need for drainage. The material also helps the roots do something called air pruning. When the roots sense the air, they naturally stop their own growth because they sense they’ve reached the limits of their space. This keeps the roots healthy and stops plants from becoming root-bound by growing in continuing circles as they do in non-breathable containers such as clay pots.
I may have a few more Wally Pocket’s added to my wall soon. I’ll keep you posted. In the mean time, head on over to Uncommongoods and pick up a Wally Pocket ($49.00 24″W x 15″H ) for yourself. You’re going to love it! However, if you already have one (or a few) send us some pics, we’ll add them to our blog.
