The forging process requires heating the steel spike to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit. Several custom tools were designed to create the bottle-opening claw as well as the twisted design on the handle. A thin coating of pure beeswax is added for protection and a bit of coloring.
Buying products made from recycled and reclaimed materials is a key step in supporting recycling programs and resource conservation. Resources are saved only when recycled products are purchased. This is referred to as “closing the loop.”
