Eco-friendly toys for tots made of recycled plastic!

by Kristen Banker on September 10, 2008 in Eco Products

Now your little ones can help reduce landfill waste and lower greenhouse gas emissions by playing with toys that are non-toxic and save energy.

Sprig Toys has come up with a vehicle, (toy), that is child safe and uses bio-composite material deducted from recycled and reclaimed food grade plastics. The vehicles use the natural energy of a child to push and pump the power lights and other electronics, all without the need for batteries.

Green Toys Inc. also has a line of timeless toy classics for every child. Like Sprig Toys, Green Toys Inc. are eco-friendly products made of 100% recycled plastic milk containers. The line includes a cookware and dish set, tea set, sand play kit and more. Green Toys Inc. has also extended its environmental efforts into its packaging by using recycled paper instead of conventional shipping plastics.

“As part of our green initiatives, we are actively sourcing toys with North American content,” says Linda Stortz, co-founder of Stortz & Associates. “We fell in love with the Sprig Toys™ line the moment we saw it, and are proud to have it be our first ‘Made in Canada’ line that features recycled materials. The Green Toys™ line will be a timeless classic for every child.”

Green Toys Inc.’s mission is to promote toys that minimize the impact on the environment by reusing, reducing and recycling, which decrease the carbon footprint in manufacturing and delivery.

Not only are these toys good for the environment, but they can also help parents educate their children about the importance of taking care of our planet!
