In this new world of higher efficiencies and lower carbon footprints, water conservation is very serious business.
We’ve seen washing machines that offer remote monitoring, sterilizing, no-water wash features and those that tackle more stains than we knew even existed. Sanyo’s new machine lives life on the eco-friendly side.

The new AQUA by Sanyo comes with a thoughtful and unique ‘Aqualoop’ feature, allows it to recycle water for use in future washes. Water used in the last rinse cycle is stored in a tank inside the machine. Ozone is then injected into the water, cleaning it and killing any bacteria, so that the water can be used the next time a load of washing is done.
The water can also be used in the dehumidifying process during the drying cycle. Typically conventional machines draw large amounts of tap water during dehumidifying, the AQUA draws none. The result of these awesome innovations is a reduction in water use of up to half compared to typical washers. An average laundry load in an Aqua requires about 50 liters of water from the wash cycle through to the dry cycle.

The machine has a variety of other unique cycles, including the non-detergent course, which can remove light dirt without the use of detergents, and the mold-guard course, which uses the anti-bacterial powers of ozone to protect clothes against black mold. The Air Wash function enables you to clean clothes at home that are typically meant for the dry cleaners, as it “infuses” your cloths with odor, bacteria-killing chemicals, without the use of water.
Bottom line, I want one!
