On Sunny Sunday May 25th 2008 more than a thousand cyclists of all ages joined in Toronto’s biggest pedal parade, ringing their bells from High Park to Queens Park in support of making Toronto a leader in bike safety by adding more bike lanes.
Toronto is getting serious about its bikers, and many cyclists are joining the Toronto Cyclists Union which provides them a voice.

The Union endorses adequate funding and political support for the cycling infrastructure. They want a well designed, safe, road system for bikers. The Union wants the city to implement laws such as towing or ticketing cars that park in bike lanes. The Union also wants the city to repair damaged bike lanes, keep them free of potholes, repaint the lines when needed, and in the winter months allow the bike lanes to remain free of snow, ice and other debris.
