Alltop Is A Great Site All Should See!

by Kristen Banker on June 20, 2008

Alltop.com is an RSS, (formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts in a standardized format), that hosts top stories about the most favored issues on the web. It’s a news aggregation site that is broken up into top categories like environment, fashion, politics, etc. The home page lists a number of categories that link to a page that pulls in blog feeds.

RSS is an idea that the majority of internet users don’t understand and those that do may not have the time to search for feeds. Guy Kawasaki has created alltop.com so that you can read a lot of information from various sources in a very uncomplexed manor. Basically Guy has done all the hard work for you.

A metaphor I’ve heard describing alltop.com is that it’s an “online magazine rack”. You go to alltop.com, see all 50 or 60 of the “magazines” most popular topics and you can view the 5 most recent stories within the “magazine”. Essentially it’s a quick and easy way to look at 250-500 different stories about a topic in one easy to operate location!

I was honored when I received an email from Guy letting me know that Modern Eco Blog had been added to the green.alltop.com page, so naturally I wanted to reciprocate my thanks by making sure I let my readers know about how cool alltop.com is. Next time you are at your desk, or drinking your morning coffee in front of your computer and you want a quick run down on world news, or the best humor, visit alltop.com! Plus Guy has one of the most well written and truly entertaining “About Us” pages I’ve come across. So when you visit alltop.com to select your topic of choice, make sure to stop in and read the “about us” page, you’ll be glad you did.

Thanks again Guy, Alltop rocks!

Alltop. Bribes work.

Alltop is my “what should I read now?” space on the internet… spend a few minutes browsing it, and it will become yours too!
