A new type of DVD disc has been unveiled that is flexible and eco-friendly called the Flex DVD. The lightweight and flexible DVD offers the same storage capacity as a standard DVD, but can be bent and flexed without causing damage to the disc.
The discs are aimed at content providers that mail discs to consumers because the thin size of the disc makes for less postage and the flexible disc can move through sorting machinery at the post office sort facilities.

Eco-Friendly Flex DVD
The Flex DVD needs half the amount of raw plastic as a normal DVD and produces about half as much CO2 emissions during the construction process. The DVD also uses 100% recycled material and needs no chemical or bonding materials in construction.
As corporations and organizations become more and more conscious of their impact on the environment, the Flex DVD is clearly a significantly more “green” DVD alternative for these companies to consider. CD Digital Card’s mastering and replication technology uses one half the polycarbonate and chemicals that a standard DVD-5 replication process normally uses. Over time, the benefits to the environment from a pollution and recycling standpoint are truly significant factors.
