The Superior Athos Flueless Gas Fire Makes Quite A Statement

by Kristen Banker on October 6, 2008

Who doesn’t enjoy, or fantasize about sitting in front of a warm open fire with a great bottle of wine and someone super special, particularly on a cold winter’s night? I doubt I’m the only one.

However, traditional fireplaces are no longer environmentally viable or practical. Now, imagine an open fire that can be wall mounted, (insert above scenario) and you’re not only cozy on those cold nights, but you’re eco-friendly too!

I do love the crackle of an open fire, but a traditional fire can become messy, (something I’m not a fan of), plus when you factor in the black soot and all the toxins you ingest, is it really worth it? I’m a lover of Modern design therefore I’m super stoked about this Superior Athos Flueless Gas Fire, (by Superior).

The Athos koffers a sleek clean design that will create drama and ambience in any room. The Athos is 100% fuel-efficient and puts out from 2kW to 3.5kW of heat from natural gas. Using patented “clean burn” catalytic technology, the company claims that the Athos has the ability to improve air quality in your home.

Flueless gas fires work by using a single or double catalytic converter to convert the poisonous gases produced by the fire, like carbon monoxide, to harmless water vapor and carbon dioxide.

The Athos incorporates some of the best in safety features such as a thermal glass front, oxygen depletion sensor (ODS), and a flame failure device.

Nice looking fireplace! another good thing about gas fireplaces is that you can turn the pilot light off if you aren’t going to use the fireplace for an extended period of time, for example during the summer months, and save natural gas.
