European Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) regulations have been in force for a few years now and in USA similar strict guidelines are followed voluntarily.  The Computer industry is very compliant. I have never seen a monitor that weighed 10 pounds in my life but most of a monitor&#039;s weight is glass.
