The Super Bowl, and all the hoopla that surrounds it, is going to be a little greener this year. From powering the stadium on renewable energy to donating leftover food, the NFL is sponsoring initiatives to offset the environmental impact of the big game.
Reebok has also decided to add some green efforts to this year’s Super bowl. For the first time, Reebok’s Super Bowl Championship locker room Tees, (following Super Bowl XLIII), will be made using eco-friendly, 100% organic cotton fabric. The hang tags are made of recycled materials and the signature green stitching on the shoulder and inside neck seams distinguishes the product as official organic Super Bowl Locker Room Tees.

“Reebok recognizes the importance of environmentally responsible business practices,” said John McMahon, Director of Marketing for Reebok Sports Licensed Division. “As a company, we are constantly looking for innovative design and production technology to make us a more sustainable company. These Championship Tees are produced each year for the Super Bowl, and are typically a best seller. By incorporating an eco-friendly element to them, the Reebok brand and the NFL are using the global platform of the Super Bowl to raise awareness about environmentally-conscious opportunities.”
While it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the greening” going on, it’s also simple to make a positive impact on Mother Earth. Every single thing we do has an impact on the planet — good or bad. The good news is that as an individual you have the power to control your choices, and therefore, the impact you create. With all the creative ways of going green these days, why wouldn’t anyone want to be green?
These organic shirts will be available, (for a limited time), at select retail outlets, but fans interested in purchasing the shirts can go to Reebok.com, or NFLshop.com immediately following the Super Bowl.

“Every single thing we do has an impact on the planet — good or bad.” Great post – I think it is important we remember this fact even during times of celebration. Go AZ Cardinals!
